Nancy Sugar Darling talks you through the LFW trends and how to make them yours
Let’s be real: LFW is not a haven for plus size women. But that doesn’t mean we can’t be inspired by the trends we see on the catwalk. Blogger Nancy of Sugar Darling hit LFW and is here to talk us through the trends that you can nab at navabi…

Kitschy cowboy Americana hashed with sports and leisure wear is the theme of Henry Holland’s latest collection, enhanced with his usual flair and a palette of bold colours and nontraditional patterns. The outerwear of choice to go with your cowboy boots, stars and fringing? A crazy statement fur coat of course! Just make sure it’s a strange patchwork style design in the brightest colours you can find and you’ll be well away.
Although there was less denim on the catwalks this season what we did see were real statement pieces in crazy cuts with lots of layering and gathers, frayed hems, dropped crotches, too long sleeves and even metallic denims. The most interesting pieces by far came from ex Vivienne Westwood and Preen alumni, the designer duo Marques’Almeida alongside brocades, billowing sleeves, oversized pyjama styles and a plethora of geometric footwear.
Versus Versace’s latest collections are undeniably influenced by the 1970’s punk rock era and the fashions brought to life by Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm Maclaren. Think torn, untraditional shapes and rough cuts, visible stitching and zippers and unusual garment fastenings, black and white newspaper style prints that catch the eye and a really rebellious, unapologetic feel. Create the style yourself with these bold pieces:
It’s safe to say that the oversized roll neck is here to stay for at least another year and I for one am not mad at it! I love how it adds extra framing to your face and so works perfectly with a bold make up look and pairs perfectly with a maxi skirt for the ultimate in laid back chic.
Chalayan has stayed with the classic AW palette of deep jewel tones, blacks and greys but transformed them into something very special with super luxurious fabrics, wonderful mixing of textures and very unusual cuts that create unique silhouettes. In my opinion navabi have always excelled in offering us plus ladies high quality materials and interesting cuts.
