The layered look: Classic vs modern

There are two types of ways to work lagenlook: classic and modern. Both are fabulous ways to express creativity through what you wear. Here we take a look at each individual take on the timeless trend.

The classic layered look has been around for a while, while the modern layered look has been slowly infiltrating its way into our wardrobes since autumn/winter 2015. Proving it’s a lot more than a passing trend, layering always has the potential to develop and reinvent itself.

The classic layered look

Expressive, creative & unique: these attributes describe the classic layered look. Details such as patchwork prints, large patch pockets, drawstring ties, asymmetric cuts, and natural fabrics crafted from linen and cotton are typical of this style. Several layers combined perfects the look.

Modern layered look

The modern layered look pushes the art of layering to its limit and is defined by boxy oversized cuts and differing lengths so that shirts can often function as dresses. Even classic elements such as harem pants find their place here, but combined in a modern way with on-trend dipped hems.
